| Verse |
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. The King will reply, "I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."
Matthew 25:35, 40

| Vision/Mission |
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. The program began in 1994 with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia (between Atlanta and Athens), and has grown to serve hundreds of thousands of families every month across 44 states.

|
| Goals/Objectives |
St. James UMC's goal is to reach as many people in the greater community to help stretch their food budget by offering fresh, frozen and packaged food at prices comparably less than in local stores. Comparison shopping nationwide in various grocery stores has revealed that the average retail value for the same food items would be approximately $65. Orders may be placed by coming to the church or online. Payment of the foodstuffs can be made by cash, money order, or EBT card.

| Description |
Everyone is encouraged to participate. Each month's menu is different and consists of fresh, frozen and packaged food. Angel Food is purchased from the nation’s top food suppliers. Providing quality, nutritious food at significant discounts on a regular basis is one practical way to give people a "hand up" during difficult times. The approximate cost for a box of Angel Food is $30. There is no purchase limit for boxes of Angel Food. There are no applications or qualifications necessary to purchase. |
|
| Activities Calendar |
