Not Just the Blues. Support for those struggling with depression.  While depression support groups are not psychotherapy groups, they can provide you with a safe and accepting place to vent your frustrations and fears and receive comfort and encouragement from others. This support group will be led by a Licensed Master Social Worker, who along with others, will share coping suggestions that others have found useful. This is vital in order to begin the healing process.  The group meets Tuesdays from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Youth Room.  Contact Rev. Valentine at 816-444-5588 or lvalentine@stjamesumc.com for more information

Emergency Preparedness.  We need to increase our volunteer list. This would involve the individuals being available to come and assist the church when there is an emergency. St. James would be called upon to provide cots, meals and medical assistance.  WE need volunteers.  Please sign up during HeBREWS at the Health Ministry table.
