The HeBREWS Fellowship will be held in the Ministry Mall from 9:30 - 10:45 am. Please join us for coffee, tea, and juice. There is no sponsor for the Fellowship today and, thus, no food will be served. Next week the Health Ministry will sponsor HeBrews and provide a healthy continental breakfast. Volunteers for HeBREWS Fellowship. We need volunteers to work the HeBREWS Coffee Fellowship each Sunday. Lenten Leadership Study. The Governing Board and all ministry/ committee leaders are invited to participate in a special Lenten study led by our District Superintendent, Rev. Yolanda Villa. The study will continue through March, Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in the Vaughan Chapel. At least one representative from every ministry/committee is asked to participate. Children’s Ministry. All children are called to the St. James Children’s Ministry. Children’s Ministry Activities include: Acolyte (3-12), Children’s Church (5-11), Kid’s Kingdom Sunday School Classes (Pre-K to Grade 6), Little Vessels Ushers (5-11), and Praise Propulsion Dance Ministry (3+yrs). The Children's Ministry will be doing a mission project during March for the children who attend the Upper Room afterschool program at our church. This project provides nutritious food/snacks for the weekend, but not over the Spring Break, so we would like to fill the void. We need the following donations: small plastic jars of peanut butter, boxes of granola bars (high in fiber) fruit cups in light syrup, 100% fruit juice boxes and boxes of graham crackers. Meditation "creates the emotional and spiritual space which allows Christ to construct an inner sanctuary in our hearts." Class meets on the 2nd Floor in Room 2B. Wednesday Mid-Day Bible Study. The Mid-Day Bible Study is studying the Minor prophets. Come exercise your body at 11:00 a.m. at the Senior Fitness Class; feed your soul at 11:30 a.m. with Bible Study; and nourish your body at 12:30 p.m. with a potluck fellowship meal. Safe Sanctuary Training. St. James will offer a Safe Sanctuary Training Saturday, March 20th at 10:00 a.m. All persons working with children (Sunday School, Nursery, Children's Church, Youth Group, VBS, etc.) are required to be Safe Sanctuary trained. The donations will help with research and education regarding heart disease. The United Methodist Women are accepting donations for clothing and shoes (all sizes/ages) through the month of March. Show Me Creation Care, led by Terri Williams and Carol Oliver, deals with teaching us how to be good stewards of God’s resources. The emphasis is on planting community gardens and giving the food to the poor. Genesis 2:15 tells us that God put man in the Garden Of Eden to take care of it and look after it. Workshops will be held March 20th at Missouri UMC in Columbia, Missouri to train others how to plan community gardens, rain gardens, stream Dynamics, Bible Study and environmental justice.
