Ronald Kennedy Hinton, Jr. is a graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion. He is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary (PTS) in Princeton, New Jersey where he received his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree. Currently, Ronald is actively pursuing a Master of Public Administration from the Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Through PTS's field education program, he assisted in fostering self-reliant families in healthy, sustainable communities at the Office of Financial Self Reliance for ISLES Inc., a private non-profit community and environmental development organization based in Trenton, New Jersey. He is a licensed insurance agent and is also the founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Shakina Group, a financial consulting organization.

His ministry and community service experience include: Associate Minister and New Discipleship Instructor at St. Luke Baptist Church, in Paterson, NJ: Corporate Keynote Speaker at the 21st Annual Graduation Dinner for the National Granville Academy; Children's Home of Easton and the Boys and Girls Club of Easton, PA; Annual Lehigh Valley Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Presenter (Calvary Temple Allentown, PA), Habitat for Humanity, and tutor at Imani Community Center in Trenton, NJ. He has received numerous honors and distinctions for community service such as: a citation from the General Assembly for the State of New Jersey, a proclamation from the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders, and a Senate citation from New Jersey Senator John Girgenti.

While at Lafayette College, some of Ronald's academic activities and awards included: Pennsylvania Leadership Conference on Higher Education Delegate, Panelist for United Against Hate Week, Association of Black Cultural Centers Conference Student Representative, Student Representative at Yale University's Black Solidarity Conference, Senior Capstone in Religion: "The Spirituality of Bowling," Interim Study Abroad in Russia and Poland studying: The Holocaust and the Fall of Communism, Interim Study Abroad in Turkey studying: Ancient Civilizations, Dean of Studies Inspiring Leader Award, and Dean's List.

Special Interests and Group Activities included: Investment Club, President of Brothers of Lafayette (male support group), Association of Black Collegians, Intramural Sports Supervisor, Prologue 2000 (Minority Student Recruitment) Co-Chairman, L.I.N.C. (Lafayette Intercultural Networking Council), AIDS Symposium Chairman, Student Coordinator for the Office of Intercultural Development, Student/Faculty Diversity Committee, and President of the Rho Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated.

Ronald's athletic activities and awards include: ACUI Division 4 Collegiate Bowling Silver Medalist, Lafayette College Intramural Bowling High Game School Record (Perfect Game "300"), and membership into the American Bowling Congress Hall of Fame.

He posses a great passion and calling to address needs of the downtrodden— the least, last, lost, and often left out members of society. His outlook on life can be articulated by George Bernard Shaw in Man and Superman: "I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no 'brief candle' to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations."

Ronald is a native of Paterson, New Jersey and currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri. His hobbies include bowling, collecting sports memorabilia, reading and traveling.
